giving itu berasal dari kata kerja (verb) "give" artinya memberi. karena ketambahan -ing maka giving berubah menjadi kata benda (noun) yang artinya kegiatan memberi.
 
for example "giving direction"
a: sir, want you help me?

a: i forgot bring my handphone to see maps and I don't know where I am exactly. can you show me the way to go to the near bus station? so I can get to my apartment to take my handphone.
